For someone getting into the SEO world the very first time it can be a bit of a daunting task trying to work out one thing to do to get your campaign up and running. It’s a terrifying prospect for the virgin Internet marketer as there’s a huge downside to SEO that the majority of people don’t tell you – it will take a very long time to have any effect.
This is a problem because surely if you’re doing lots of work on your SEO you’d like to be able to see that it’s worked fairly quickly. Should I have to wait monthly before I see any difference within my rankings then how am I planning to know that I’m doing the right things? For once, it’s not too hard to get on the starting point of SEO which means you can be fairly certain you are carrying out the right thing fairly early on by just after a few basic rules.
For instance, the main on-site thing you have to keep in mind is your “title” tags need to have your keywords within them in order to offer Google an understanding of the items your online page is all about. These tags are a lot more important that the content in the page itself so you should get it right and it must be highly relevant to keywords.
So, how many keywords and are there special ways you can format it in order to help your SEO efforts? Actually, no. The principles are relatively easy – make it to just a few keywords and make sure they’re alphanumeric only. Simple.
As an example, if I was selling blue widgets for cars, I might format my titles tags to “blue widgets – blue car widgets” and that’s about this. Why the bar “-” character? Well this serves to separate the keywords and seems to work with Google too – using this bar will tell it that this keywords have to be consumed in isolation.
So now we’ve got that done (yes, that’s all we actually need!) what next? Well now we need backlinks and that’s the key to good SEO and it’s the one thing that most SEO experts will show you to focus on – including me.
Backlinks are simply the hyperlinks that can take people to your web page from somebody else’s website once they click it. Simple really, but how do you get them?
Before many individuals happen to be tempted to cover them using websites that seem to enable you to buy thousands in a go – but they are these worth the money? Well, maybe they work for you, but there’s every chance they won’t work inside the long-term because Google includes a dislike for these kinds of link. It actively discourages the use of paid-for links and instead prefers that you get them naturally. But what is the method of ‘boosting’ the natural efforts?
Of course there exists! You can do this easily by creating a lot of blogs and articles and as well as your links within them. So here’s a simple run-down of the things you must do to get started.
To begin with, create yourself a lot of accounts on various blogging and article websites – there are many about however, you could begin with Blogger, WordPress and Typepad. Then, create a post and post it to each and every one. The key now is to obtain your keywords in there, and this is the technical bit – don’t worry though, it’s easy!
What you should do would be to simply select one of many keywords in the text that is equivalent to the keywords you need to be found for and add a link back to your web page. You can do this by clicking on the word (highlighting it) and azhigg clicking on the little ‘link’ icon inside the toolbar of the blogs above. Then, inside the box that pops up, simply enter the URL to your website and there can be your link!
It’s best to refrain from doing any further than two in almost any particular article, but if you retain doing that, you suddenly buy yourself a lot of backlinks!
